The Hongkong Prize and the BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize

The Hongkong Prize is Asia’s premier writing competition. The winner receives cash, book vouchers and the opportunity to exhibit their work at an awards ceremony. Each year thousands of participants submit entries, so reading through all rules carefully before submitting an entry can help avoid costly errors that could compromise your chances of winning.

Starting March 1st, applicants from Southeast Asia, mainland China and globally may register their interest to win by visiting the World of Winners splash page and registering their name as soon as they’re available for selection – winners will be selected in three waves – first Southeast Asian residents followed by mainland Chinese and then international applicants.

As part of their winning prize, not only will the winner receive a cash award but will also have access to various workshops and seminars on business and marketing, visit some of Hong Kong’s iconic landmarks, experience its vibrant culture first-hand and visit some of its most iconic locations.

To accomplish this goal, the Hongkong Prize has joined forces with partners including the International Society for Neuroscience (ISN), Asian Institute of Management and University of Hong Kong. Their collaboration aims to inspire young people towards careers in science and technology as well as contribute to Hong Kong’s transition into an innovative economy.

This year’s HK Global Development Prize received more than 50 entries from local charities and non-governmental organisations. Finalists will be announced on October 31 and winners presented with their prizes at a ceremony in November. This prize’s winner must present innovative ideas to assist with Hong Kong’s international development efforts and help define Hong Kong’s role on the world stage.

Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited awarded five scholars from Hong Kong universities the BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize, honoring their contributions to scientific research as well as their influence in changing R&D outcomes across a spectrum of areas including artificial intelligence/robotics/life/health sciences/new materials/new energy sciences/advanced manufacturing / fintech technologies. Each of the awardees will be honored with a cash prize of HK$2 Million as well as certificates and trophies for their efforts.

The Hongkong Prize is an internationally acclaimed writing contest that offers students from around the globe a chance to compete for large cash prizes and travel to Hong Kong. To enter, students must be nominated by their teacher and submit an art piece online before its submission deadline; judges’ prizes of HK$8,000 each, while a Public Vote Prize winner receives an additional award of HK$10k from their school.
