The Hongkong Prize is one of Asia’s premier prizes, drawing thousands of applicants annually. It recognizes scientists whose groundbreaking contributions to science and technology have had an impactful positive effect on society; in addition to receiving monetary awards they also gain access to Hong Kong’s premier research facilities as well as certificates and trophies – many notable finalists have risked their lives for their work like creating an organization that assists homeless individuals or researches who developed liquid biopsy technologies.

The prize was established to recognize outstanding researchers and encourage young scholars to pursue their passions, while enhancing Hong Kong’s international standing as a hub of scientific research. Furthermore, the award supports global perspectives among local scholars by creating an avenue through which they may connect with renowned overseas researchers and academicians.

Apart from its namesake prize, this competition offers students other scholarships as part of the application process, including the Hong Kong Scholarship awarded to students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship and extracurricular activities. This scholarship program has proven immensely popular with Hong Kong students because it not only offers financial support but also allows them to experience Hong Kong culture and history first-hand.

This award is open to anyone who has traveled at least once within the past five years and holds a valid passport, providing travelers with an exciting opportunity to win tickets for travel to Hong Kong for either business or leisure purposes. Starting March 1, travelers can enter their chance of winning via visiting World of Winners splash page – with prizes distributed in waves starting with Southeast Asia, China and then rest of world entrants being eligible.

Judges will assess artwork according to technical skill, composition and execution as well as how well it embodies diversity and inclusion themes. Shortlisted works will then be displayed at City Hall and proceeds donated to Justice Centre Hong Kong so they may help those in need.

The BOCHK SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION PRIZE’s judging process is independent, transparent, and objective, with final review decisions being based on several criteria such as manuscript quality; relevance to Hong Kong society; potential wider impact; expertise from universities as well as wider community members serving on its judging committee; in any disputes between participants the decision of judges will be final.
