Hong Kong Pools

Hong Kong boasts many public pools for those seeking a place to swim, however lifeguard shortages have caused almost half of facilities to close lanes or facilities reserved for swimming instruction due to staffing shortages, according to Hong Kong Recreation and Sports Professionals General Union. Swimmers and instructors who want to introduce their children or learn the sport will suffer a devastating setback.

Peninsula Hong Kong offers an opulent indoor pool that stands apart from those found at ordinary suburban pools. Boasting art deco design features like marble Roman columns and striped lounge chairs reminiscent of The Great Gatsby movie, its luxurious art deco pool offers stunning views over Hong Kong Harbour as you unwind here.

Pao Yue Kong Pool in Wong Chuk Hang is another iconic Hong Kong pool, offering a large complex of pools of various shapes and sizes to make a workout worthwhile. There are lane swimming pools for lap swimming enthusiasts; diving pools provide divers an opportunity to practice their diving techniques; two kid-friendly pools provide entertainment; there is even a whirlpool if you prefer relaxing in water while sipping champagne!

Hong Kong offers many of the world’s finest swimming pools. Families moving to the city should make sure that their new neighbourhood includes one so that their children can take advantage of its cool summer climate while burning off some energy in the water. Larger developments with multiple towers will typically feature outdoor pools while single tower developments may only have small indoor or outdoor pools available to them.

Many hotels feature pools for guests to use during their stay; some of these may even be open to non-hotel guests as well. One such popular pool is the W Hotel Wet Pool on the 76th floor – offering not only breathtaking city skyscraper views but also featuring an elegant butterfly painted wall and jacuzzi! There’s even an onsite rooftop bar where sundowners can be enjoyed after an intense day spent relaxing by the water!

An Octupus card is an excellent way to explore Hong Kong’s top swimming pools: upon your arrival in HK, purchase one and use it to gain entry. Plus, the Octupus card also makes purchasing food, drinks and snacks from poolside eateries and bars easy! Happy swimming Hong Kong!
