The SDY Prize For Undergraduate Linguistics Students

sdy prize

The Sdy Prize is an undergraduate linguistics student award presented annually at an undergraduate linguistics program. It provides students the chance to showcase their research while connecting with potential employers. Although highly competitive, applicants should consult the official website to ensure they meet eligibility criteria as well as review past winners and instructions for submitting an application.

Monte acquired Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev of Natus Vincere during the Winter Transfer Window and is planning on using him to replace Frederik “Professor” Sorensen after being benched earlier in January this year. Sdy has proven his worth already; winning both BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022 and Intel Extreme Masters XVII – Cologne tournaments respectively and Monte is confident sdy will lead them towards greater success at future major tournaments such as Cologne next April.

In 2014, Structural Dynamics and the Australian Chemical & Biological Society (ACA) joined forces to launch the SDY Prize. Its purpose is to gather together an eclectic group of scientists, non-scientists, policy makers, youth and thought leaders from diverse fields who can come together and share ideas about how we can work together towards solving global challenges. Through this multi-disciplinary forum, scientists can interact with society more deeply.

In order to be considered for the SDY Prize, students must demonstrate exceptional qualities of scholarship and leadership within their field, making significant contributions both within their field and to society as a whole. Nominations by faculty and staff begin the selection process in April; nominees then go before undergraduate faculty members for voting with senior receiving the most votes receiving the SDY Prize at that meeting – they’ll also get invited back as speakers at departmental undergraduate faculty meetings as well as working alongside staff on ongoing research projects!

The prize is open to undergraduate linguistics programs whose top half students rank in the upper half of their class and who have completed a research project related to linguistics. To apply, complete an online application including a short statement detailing your research project and why it deserves this prestigious prize.

The Sdy Prize is an annual award presented to the best undergraduate linguistics student from any Canadian university. The recipient will receive $3,000, along with recognition from both their Dean of Students and Vice President for Student Affairs, plus eligibility to apply for graduate scholarships. The winning student will also attend a seminar at the University of Victoria with an international expert in their field, while contributing to the advancement of linguistics in Canada through presentations at conferences and publishing papers in peer-reviewed journals. Applications must be received no later than March 31, 2021 for consideration; students interested should visit the Sdy Prize website for more details and prepare applications early!
